Barrio de Sant Francesc
Barrio de Sant Francesc is the largest in the Ciutat Vella. It stretches along the southern part of the center, from Plaza de la Reina to the Plaza de Toros.
It owes its name to the convent of Sant Francesc, which was built in the 13th century and demolished in 1891 to make way for the current Plaza del Ayuntamiento, the largest and majestic square in Valencia, surrounded by neoclassical buildings, where the City Government is located.
Apart from to the City Hall; the Church of San Augustín, MUVIM - Museu Valencià De La Il·Lustració I De La Modernitat - and Teatro Principal are located in the neighborhood.
